About Chester Town Hall
The grey and red sandstone Gothic-style Town Hall, with its tower and spire rising to a height of 160 feet was completed in 1869. Today, the building retains its Victorian magnificence and is a prestigious venue, available for public hire for weddings ceremonies and celebrations. The venue even incorporates a courtroom, a great backdrop for memorable photographs on your big day.
Since obtaining approval to hold Civil Marriage ceremonies, Chester Town Hall has become one of the most desirable venues in Cheshire, with many couples appreciating the attractive building’s façade and beautiful interior. The Victorian carved stone foyer and waiting hall with a sweeping staircase where guests can gather provides a rich colourful backdrop for photography, a reminder of a day poor weather cannot diminish.
