Knowlton Court is a beautiful, historic venue for your wedding. The Canterbury venue is in a truly beautiful location; the grand house is set within an impressive 1900 acre estate, surrounded by idyllic parkland.
A charming line of Lime trees leads you to the grand building, providing a romantic approach to the magnificent gates, courtyard and entrance. Knowlton Court stands majestically within the grounds, providing a spectacular backdrop for your important wedding photos.
Knowlton Court, now privately owned by the Fox-Pitt family, has a rich history. The house was recorded in the Doomsday book and was the seat of William the Conqueror’s brother, Bishop Odo of Bayeux. The current house on the estate is Elizabethan with a Queen Anne façade.
The elegance and history of the building can be sensed through the many striking traditional features. From the black and white chequered marble floor to the walls adorned with remarkable French and Flemish tapestries, the venue offers the perfect backdrop for a grand occasion.
The Great Hall can accommodate up to 82 guests for delicious wedding breakfast with the option for an additional 70 people in the evening. For weddings with longer guest lists, the fantastic marquee in the grounds is available between April and October. The marquee is ideal for large wedding parties with the added benefit of being able to enjoy the beauty of the grounds up close. If required, larger marquees are available.
At Knowlton Court, you have the opportunity to spend three nights celebrating exclusively with your nearest and dearest. The venue boasts overnight accommodation for up to 65 guests for a truly unforgettable wedding weekend.
