The Bedford Hotel is a privately owned 19th Century, Grade 1 listed Hotel and wedding venue, which was built on the remains of a Benedictine Abbey and has been lovingly restored to its former glory

We have 4 beautiful functions rooms licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships, whether you are looking for an intimate civil ceremony for 10 or a civil ceremony for 110, each room has its own unique character and charm to suit all your individual requirements.

If it is a church wedding in Tavistock you are considering we are fortunate to be opposite the beautiful St Eustacious Church which; like The Bedford Hotel, used to be part of the Benedictine Abbey.

The primary wedding breakfast room is the Award Winning ‘Gallery 26’. A stunning, modern function room, fully air conditioned with under floor heating, contemporary decor, mood lighting and a huge feature glass wall; through which can be seen the architectural splendor of the adjoining Tavistock Abbey Chapel. A perfect combination where old meets new and both succeed.

For a more intimate Wedding Breakfast The Tavistock Room is perfect, an oak paneled room with ornate fireplace and hand painted ceiling recreates the elegance of a bygone era. This room can seat up to 24 wedding guests

There are 31 individually styled hotel bedrooms combining modern facilities with contemporary styling. A special Bed and Breakfast rate can be arranged specifically for your wedding party, just ask your wedding co-ordinator for more information.
