As one of the finest Elizabethan Halls in England, Middle Temple provides a truly majestic setting for your wedding. While located in the heart of London, the historic venue benefits from glorious secluded surroundings.

Built in the mid-16th century, Middle Temple is one of the Ancient Inns of Court. Very little has changed over the years, and the stately red-brick buildings and gas-lit cobbled streets create a sense of stepping back in time to the days of Sir Walter Raleigh, William Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth I – just a few of the famous historic figures who often visited here.

The stunning Elizabethan Hall provides a dramatic setting for any event. The intricately carved double hammer beam roof and beautiful stained-glass windows are original features from when the Hall was first built – as is the long oak table that was a gift from Queen Elizabeth I, and is still in use today!

This impressive space can seat up to 100 people for a wedding ceremony, or seat up to 260 for a wedding breakfast. Specialist lighting and decorations can create a wedding with the delicate magic of a Shakespearian fairytale, or a stately elegance fit for royalty.

There are 4 further spaces that can be booked for weddings – each with it’s own individual atmosphere. The rooms are all filled with ancient artefacts, from suits of armour to rare oil paintings, giving guests a fascinating glimpse into the past of this historically unique building. The oak paneling on the walls and the large windows overlooking the gardens give the rooms a warm and welcoming feel, whether for a champagne reception or an intimate dinner party.

The gardens around Middle Temple extend down to the banks of the Thames, and are filled with flower gardens and shady trees creating an oasis of tranquility, even though the busy central London streets are just minutes away. From the shady Fountain Court, to the expanse of the manicured lawns, it is a beautiful setting for an outdoor reception – with plenty of space for a marquee.
