Based in Hay Springs, Nebraska, the Barns at Galyen Farms is a family-operated barn wedding venue. The Galyen family is the fourth generation to live on this farm. Current owner Larry Galyen’s great grandparents started the farm as a homestead at the end of the 19th century. His current focus is on creating a sustainable farm, as he and his family live a farm-to-table lifestyle, supplemented with certain items from neighboring farms. Larry’s wife, Deborah, has years of experience in interior design and the hospitality industry and is the driving force behind weddings at the farm. They are also open to hosting wedding showers and engagement parties, as well as rehearsal dinners. Elopements are welcome here. Facilities and Capacity The Barns at Galyen Farms can host celebrations of up to 350 guests for indoor and outdoor events. A luxurious get-ready room provides a sumptuous space for the couple to prepare for their day. Couples can say their vows outside surrounded by loved ones and the organic atmosphere of a working farm. Covered outdoor sites are also available in the event of inclement weather. They can then retreat to the barn for a delicious meal and celebration. Convenient restrooms and a retro hand-washing station offer guests modern amenities in a rustic setting. A vintage truck offers unique photo opportunities. Shuttles can be arranged to help loved ones get to the wedding in a timely yet comfortable manner. Services Offered To help couples enjoy their day as much as possible, the Barns at Galyen Farms offers day-of coordination and event planning services. Larry and Deborah can support couples as much as required, including organizing catering. Rustic farm-to-table dining offers an authentic culinary experience with hearty, home-grown produce. Elegant charcuterie boards are also available for a more casual way to dine. Couples needn’t worry about finding furniture, as the barn can supply tables, chairs, and linens to support their reception. After the ceremony, guests can play games in the yard for unique entertainment that gets everyone involved. Bar and cake services can be arranged to facilitate the celebration.
