About Alnwick Castle
Nestled in the stunning Northumberland countryside, Alnwick Castle is a magnificent venue for civil wedding ceremonies and receptions. Whether you are planning an intimate celebration or a more lavish occasion, your wedding will be everything that you ever dreamed of.
Our team of friendly and professional staff are ready to assist with every detail to make your day perfect. Our wedding menus are designed using the best, locally sourced food and our Head Chef would be delighted to prepare a bespoke menu for you.
Alnwick Castle offers an amazing historical atmosphere, with its beamed roof and stone archways, which makes it perfect for any wedding celebration.
Alnwick Castle also doubled as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films, so capture your day with stunning photographs taken against the truly cinematic backdrop of the castle, or the 18th century Capability Brown landscape.
Alnwick Castle offers a choice of two venues, including the stunning guest banqueting hall, which is available throughout the year for ceremonies and receptions. It can accommodate up to 200 guests for ceremonies and 160 for wedding breakfasts. The hall includes the use of the Castle Courtyard, and offers its own licensed bar, plus plenty of room for dancing!
Hulne Abbey is licensed for ceremonies and is available from March to September. The Abbey provides an atmospheric setting, with ruined wells and beautiful archways which lead to hidden alcoves and a secret garden. The grounds offer ample space for a marquee or rustic tipi, and the option to hire the abbey and the grounds for the whole day. The layout of Hulne Abbey is flexible and can comfortably accommodate anything up to 500 guests.
