The Story
L'abbaye de la Clarté-Dieu, fondée en 1239, est un monument historique classé.
Abbaye de la Clarté-Dieu, founded in 1239, is a listed historic monument in Saint-Paterne-Racan, France. Today, this beautifully preserved abbey welcomes guests for site tours and receptions, offering couples the chance to celebrate their wedding in truly exceptional surroundings.
The former store room in the convers' building can accommodate up to 140 seated guests or 200 people for a cocktail reception. For larger gatherings, marquees can be set up amidst the remains of the old cloister, creating a unique outdoor experience. An adjoining building provides a catering kitchen, toilets, and changing rooms. Some of the abbey’s vaults can also be used for various events.
On-site, the venue provides tables and chairs for your event: 8 tables (160 x 80 cm), 10 tables (200 x 80 cm) with benches, and 94 chairs. The abbey is also home to an artist’s workshop, where elegant sculptures are crafted – these make charming wedding gifts.
For accommodation, Abbaye de la Clarté-Dieu offers a small capacity of 14 beds and the possibility for guests to camp in tents on the property.
