With a rich history dating back to the 17th Century, Bleeding Heart Restaurants in London offers both an illustrious present and a fascinating past. Famously described by The Times as London's most romantic restaurant, it has been a top choice for nearly three decades for those seeking a truly gastronomic experience, surrounded by exquisite décor and a vibrant atmosphere.
This renowned French restaurant provides various spaces for wedding celebrations. The Bleeding Heart Yard accommodates up to 120 guests and features an outside area for drinks as well as a separate suite for dancing. Just beside the venue, the medieval Crypt in Ely Place—scene of King Henry VIII’s three-day wedding banquet in 1531—can host from 50 to 120 wedding guests in a setting steeped in history. Couples can take advantage of exclusive weekend use, with the same exceptional food, wine and service offered as in the main restaurant.
The team are known for their impeccable service, providing personalised menus, floral arrangements, music and more to ensure a memorable city celebration. The cuisine is contemporary French, with the option to create a bespoke menu and wine selection to suit your tastes. Intriguingly, the venue’s name comes from the story of Lady Hatton’s murder in 1626—her heart still pumping blood into the cobblestones, the legend says.
