Clifton Observatory

Clifton Observatory, located in Bristol, is an iconic venue renowned for hosting unique weddings and events, offering panoramic views of Bristol City and the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Originally a ruined windmill, the tower was transformed into an Observatory in 1828. In 2015, it was sold to a Bristol-born resident and was eventually converted into a museum and opened for public use in 2017. This historic venue blends rich heritage with breath-taking surroundings, making it a memorable setting for your celebration.

Set above the Avon Gorge, Clifton Observatory offers three equally stunning locations for wedding ceremonies. The recently refurbished William West Room can seat up to 60 guests. The iconic Observatory Tower provides an intimate setting for 10-15 seated or standing guests, while the Giants Cave can accommodate up to 20 standing guests. After the ceremony, couples and their guests can enjoy a drinks reception on the 360-rooftop terrace, taking in sweeping views of the Bristol skyline.

The William West Room is also available for a catered wedding reception for up to 60 guests in banquet style or 100 standing. Clifton Observatory offers a range of wedding services, including set up, take down, catering, bar, and the option to bring in outside vendors.
