Forde Abbey

Forde Abbey is the epitome of a glamorous wedding venue, featuring original 12th-century architecture and magnificent gardens that reflect nearly 900 years of history. The majestic Great Hall can seat up to 200 guests and provides a warm ambience with blazing fires and sparkling chandeliers during the winter months. This grand space opens onto the front lawn through the archway of Chard's Tower, allowing guests to step straight into the graceful gardens after the ceremony. For evening receptions, drinks can continue in the Great Hall before moving to The Undercroft, which hosts banquets and entertainment for up to 150 people. For more intimate weddings, the Monks' Refectory, which is not usually open to the public, is available for up to 80 guests.

Forde Abbey's dedicated staff promise a professional and attentive service in these pristine surroundings. The venue also offers the option for marquee receptions in the gardens and allows couples to provide their own wine with no corkage fee applied.
