The Story
About Mapperton Nestled in the rolling hills of West Dorset stands Mapperton, family home to the Earl & Countess ...
Nestled in the rolling hills of West Dorset, Mapperton is the family home of the Earl and Countess of Sandwich and was voted the UK's finest manor house by Country Life magazine. This exclusive venue offers complete use of the grounds, gardens, Orangery and Coach House on your wedding day, with the sprawling gardens descending through formal topiary into a wild garden that provides a stunning backdrop for photography.
Exchange vows in the elegant Garden Pavilion before celebrating with champagne outside the majestic Orangery, which overlooks one of England's most celebrated gardens. Guests can explore tree-lined paths leading to secret archways and a pond, breathing in the scent of roses and lavender.
The recently refurbished Coach House, built in 1670, accommodates up to 120 seated guests and retains historic features including exposed stonework, original lath and plaster surfaces, and full height ceilings with period trusses and cross-beams. A biomass heating system, 4K projector, professional sound system and controllable lighting provide modern comfort and entertainment capabilities. A second room houses a fully-stocked licensed bar included in the venue fee.
The main lawn can accommodate a marquee for up to 400 guests, with the Garden Pavilion, Coach House, garden grottoes and pergola all licensed for civil ceremonies.
