Markenfield Hall

Nestled in the North Yorkshire countryside near Ripon, Harrogate, and Leeds, Markenfield Hall offers an enchanting setting for intimate wedding celebrations. The hall combines custom catering options with striking medieval architecture and exceptional décor, providing a rich historical backdrop for your special day. Said to be among England’s oldest inhabited residences, Markenfield Hall dates back to its mention in the Domesday Book in 1086 and is recognised as the most unspoiled surviving fourteenth-century house in the country, now being lovingly restored to its original splendour.

The Great Hall is the largest room, featuring large windows for natural light during the warmer months, candles and a grand fireplace for winter, and seating for up to 35 guests. The Vaulted Study accommodates up to eight guests for signing the registry, while the charming Undercroft offers space for up to 35 guests for a wedding breakfast or drinks reception. The Orchard and East Gardens provide stunning backdrops for wedding photography, and the mediaeval Chapel of St. Michael Archangel is available for a marriage blessing following a civil ceremony.

Markenfield Hall partners with Dusty Miller Caterers, led by Brian and Elizabeth Dennison with over 35 years' experience, who work closely with couples to create bespoke menus using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. The venue also supplies references for local reception venues, lodging, florists, photographers, musicians, transportation, and decorative resources, ensuring a seamless and memorable wedding experience.
