The Story

Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum in Bournemouth is a distinctive clifftop venue, providing a romantic and elegant setting for weddings. Dating back to the turn of the 20th century, this majestic Victorian house overlooks Bournemouth Bay and features its own private garden, offering splendid sea views and a unique ambience steeped in history and art.
The museum offers a choice of exquisite licensed rooms for wedding ceremonies, including the Main Hall, the Drawing Room, and Gallery II. Whether you wish for a grand celebration or a more intimate gathering, Russell-Cotes Weddings promises an impressive blend of elegance, tradition, and grandeur to suit your special day.
The venue’s history adds a special charm; in 1901, Merton Russell-Cotes gifted this lavish seaside villa to his wife Annie as an extraordinary birthday present. Together, they filled their home with beautiful artefacts collected from around the world and adorned the walls with an outstanding collection of British art. Today, more than 1,000 pieces, including works such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti's Venus Verticordia, are on display, offering you and your guests a dramatic and memorable backdrop to celebrate your vows.
