Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa is part of Historic Sussex Hotels, a privately owned collection of three distinctive luxury hotels set across some of West Sussex's most beautiful locations. Each property is unique in character and history, yet all are committed to the highest standards of hospitality, comfort, service and cuisine.
The group was founded in 1957 when the late Hugh Taylor acquired the Spread Eagle Hotel & Spa. Today, his son-in-law Sandy Goodman and granddaughter Miranda Carminger, along with her husband Pontus Carminger, oversee this small, exclusive collection. Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa itself joined the group in 1993 and was lovingly restored to create the elegant venue it is today.
The hotel combines historic charm with contemporary luxury, featuring antique furniture, rich textiles and modern amenities throughout. The owners continue to invest thoughtfully in their properties, creating refined country house retreats that provide the perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration. Excellent food and impeccable service are hallmarks of the experience.
