Bickleigh Castle

Bickleigh Castle, located in Tiverton, offers a truly historic setting for weddings and celebrations. The impressive Great Hall, designed in the 11th century and recently refurbished, is licensed for Civil Ceremonies and exudes character with its enormous stone mullion windows, polished oak flooring, and a huge stone fireplace that is perfect for a roaring winter fire. The atmospheric Tudor panelled Minstrels’ Gallery continues to provide the ideal spot for musicians and photographers alike.

For dining, the Banqueting Room can comfortably seat between 40 and 120 guests for the wedding breakfast or dinner. The Orangery, Mews Sitting Room, and Bar create inviting spaces for evening celebrations, while several locations within the Castle’s gardens are suitable for marquees should more space be required.

If an outdoor wedding is desired, the elegant Victorian style garden pagoda on the lawn offers a beautiful alternative, situated next to the charming 6th century Chapel. This exclusive area can seat 120 guests and makes the most of breathtaking natural scenery—lush woodlands and the sights and sounds of the River Exe—with the Castle itself serving as a dramatic backdrop.
