Traquair House is Scotland's oldest inhabited house and one of the country's most romantic castles, nestled in the beautiful Tweed Valley just an hour from Edinburgh City Centre. This historic stately home offers a truly unique setting for weddings, whether you envision an intimate celebration or a grand affair.
The venue holds both a Catholic chapel and a civil ceremony licence, allowing you to exchange vows within the house itself or in one of the magical locations throughout the grounds. The main dining room accommodates up to 34 guests for sit-down meals, with the adjoining Lower Drawing Room extending capacity to 50. For larger celebrations, marquees can be arranged in the old Walled Garden or in front of the house.
Traquair offers several tailored packages: the Sweetheart package for eight guests or fewer, the Earl & Countess package for house-based receptions, and the Walled Garden Party and Jacobite Celebration packages for marquee weddings. The in-house catering team sources generously from local Borders businesses and grows produce in Traquair's own gardens.
